IMPORTANT: Schedules, assignments, and policies are subject to change. You will be given advance notification of any changes.

Exams: There will be 3 exams. The first two will be taken in class and are open-book and open-notes.   The third test will be a take-home test.

Quizzes: A quiz should be expected at the beginning of each class. It will cover material discussed, or assigned, during the previous class. This should motivate you to review your class notes and keep up with the reading assignments.

Homework: Homework must be clearly labeled with your full name and the name of the assignment. (Example: Rick Sparks HW3) It must be neatly done by hand on engineering paper, or with a computer. Please do not Email homework assignments unless you will miss a class.  Working with one or more classmates often enhances the learning experience and is encouraged.  Work must, however, be submitted individually.

Technical Presentation: Each student will be assigned to a presentation group and will be required to present some course material to the class.

The ability to make technical presentations is crucial to your success on the job. You will frequently be required to make formal presentations about your projects to peers and management. Your future project assignments, promotions, and pay raises will be on the line.

This portion of your grade will be scored by your peers as well as the instructor.  This score will be based on the total group's performance -- not your individual contribution.  This means that one "slacker" can drag everybody else down.  Pull your fair share of the load!  Your score will be based on the following points:

1.    Do you look and sound like a professional?
2.    Are you well prepared, or are you just winging it?
3.    Is the presentation well organized and do the topics follow a logical sequence?
4.    Are visual aid used appropriately, and well?
5.    Are the technical details covered thoroughly and correctly?
